Common Questions

First-timer? Read this.

I’ve literally never played. Am I going to feel lost?

Nope. The Intro class assumes zero. We start with how to hold the paddle, what the lines mean, and how to keep the ball in play. By the end of class one, you’ll know enough to play a real game.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself, athletic shoes (sneakers fine—no boots or flip-flops), and water. I have loaner paddles and balls. If you have your own paddle, bring it. If not, no worries.

I’m over 50 (or 60, or 70). Will I be the oldest one there?

Most of my players are 50+. Many are 60+. A few are 70+. Joy Crazy classes are specifically designed for adults who want to move, learn, and have fun without feeling rushed or judged.

What if I don’t like it? Can I get a refund?

Drop-in classes are non-refundable but you can swap to another class if life happens. Punch cards are non-refundable but transferable—give a class to a friend who’s curious. The free Daisy Doubles is the easiest no-risk way to try us out.

How does the 7-class punch card work?

You pay $120 upfront and get 7 classes to use whenever it suits your schedule—no expiration within the season. It works out to $17/class instead of $20 for drop-ins. Good for anyone who knows they want to come back.

Where exactly are the courts?

Outdoor public courts in the Portland area—exact location shared when you sign up. Some sessions use indoor courts during winter months. We also have travel nets for outdoor spots without nets.
